| Travel Essentials
|
- Your passport must for valid for a minimum of 6 months from date of departure.
- It’s recommended to acquire a South Afican sim card – available at all supermarkets and most small ‘cafes’ – a small version of a supermarket.
- The northern regions of South Africa as well as regions in Southern Africa are malaria areas – do make sure that you take necessary precautions.
- UK driving license is acceptable when hiring a car in South Africa.
- South Africa uses a 3 point rounded plug – adaptors are available at the airports.
- When travelling in Namibia it is recommended to have a spare tyre (requested with hire car booking) due to remoteness of the areas and distances between towns.
- From Mozambique there is a US$30 departure tax, payable in US$ cash on departure for international flights and US$10 for regional flights.
- If travelling across the borders – eg Victoria Falls, do make sure of the visa requirements and also if you require multiple or single entry visas. At Victoria Falls for example, British Passport holders require a visa that is obtainable at port of entry and payable in US$ cash. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the necessary visa requirements.
- Requirements for travel to the Southern African countries can change from time to time and it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct medical and visa requirements. Check with your local travel clinic as well as World Health Organisation.
- We recommend to have sun cream, hat and good walking shoes. Camera and/or video camera is also recommended – especially if you visiting the game parks. Binoculars are useful with visiting any of the safari parks.
- Its Africa – anything can happen, however packing your ‘sense of adventure’ you can be assured of an adventure of a lifetime.
