The greater Kruger area is South Africa's most established and popular 'Big Five' safari choice. The Kruger National Park itself is surrounded by smaller private concessions with dropped fences between the parks allowing all the animals to traverse freely. The Sabi Sand and Thornybush Private Game Reserves are the most well known, however there is a growing selection of lesser known reserves and lodges which also offer superior 'Big Five' safaris.

The area surrounding Kruger region is very scenic and we can highly recommend a self-drive holiday that includes a few nights in one of the private game lodges combined with a few nights in the surrounding Kruger lodges .
