The Kruger area is usually the first choice for South Africa safaris, having the most established 'big five' safari parks. The Kruger National Park itself is surrounded by smaller private concessions with dropped fences between the parks allowing animals to roam freely. Sabi Sands and Thornybush private reserves are the most well known, however there is a growing selection of lesser known reserves and lodges which also offer a superior South Africa safaris.
The Kruger region is easily accessible from Johannesburg with daily direct flights to two airports. There are also charter flights that fly directly to the reserves which is the quickest and most convenient way to start your South Africa safaris. Self-drive is also a popular choice for South Africa safaris as you able to explore the greater surrounding area which offers some beautiful scenery.
We have included our favourite Kruger safari reserves below, however do contact us if you would like to see what else we have on our database. |
