The country area of Route 62, comprised of Robertson, Montagu and Ashton to mention that largest towns, form the Breede River Valley Winelands area and flanked by the Langeberg Mountains offers a very picturesque stay. The Route 62 is claimed to be the world's longest wine route and this is a great alternative "back road" gateway to the Garden Route.
The sea-side town of Hermanus bustles with visitors during the whale season (June - November) when Southern-right Whales come into the bay to calf. You are spoilt with land based whale watching or get closer by taking a boat cruise out to see them.
