Tamarind features fully renovated and modernised guestrooms, the addition of an intimate spa and relaxation space -- with a range of body services inspired by local ingredients such as Bajan sea salt and Barbadian Moscovado brown sugar -- and two completely redesigned and reimagined restaurants. Pool and communal areas at Tamarind feature contemporary sun loungers, day beds and decks, transforming outdoor spaces into outdoor ‘living rooms’ and providing flexible spaces for dining, drinking, relaxing and events. Tamarind simultaneously offers a romantic atmosphere for couples and great facilities for families.
The changes at Tamarind are not limited to physical amenities alone; the hotel is launching a series of new programs that will be rolled out across the entire Elegant Hotels collection. These include the new “Aqua School,” offering complimentary watersports and instruction, ranging from stand up paddle boarding to snorkelling, waterskiing and more, along with “The Flying Fish Kids Club,” which encourages a range of fun filled activities for kids, while the ‘“Club Tamarind” teen lounge provides a “cool” place to hang out with large-screen Wii, popular game consoles and “disco” nights.
Tamarind provides much more than just an ideal island getaway. Activities abound on and off premises including nightlife, restaurants, island excursions and watersports to enhance the overall experience of a fun filled holiday.

Reviews
Davies Nov 2011
The Tamarind hotel had just re-opened when we stayed there in November.
Our room, an ocean suite, was superb, a good sized room with bright modern furniture.
Tamarind sits almost on the clean white sands of Paynes Bay, although a public beach it feels private and never busy.
The new decked area almost on the beach provides the venue for alfresco dining, candlelit at night, it's truly magical. The food is a mix of traditional Bajan and European classics, good sized portions without being pretentiously fussy!

We arrived at the Tamarind late afternoon. Although check-in was taking some time, it allowed us the opportunity to have a few rum punches, and a tour of the property. Our third floor room was as close to the ocean you could get without actually walking into it. The room was clean, well lit, beautifully furnished, and comfortable.
The next two weeks were spent being lazy and pampered. Although we did take some tours (Ted's Island Tour is the best!), most of our time was spent at the Tamarind, on the beach or at one of the three pools. There was always fresh, cold water available to drink, and beach staff would bring fresh fruit and popsicles. There were also staff available to bring you drinks from the bar, if wanted.
We were on the meal plan, so all our meals were at the hotel, and were absolutely delicious.

Excellent service and facilities.
Four weeks after reopening and everything is running so smoothly.
Would recommend and return when we are next in Barbados.
The staff are excellent and nothing is too much for them.
