Barbados is balmy most of the time, boasting some 3 000 hours of sun each year. Average temperatures run from 84 to 88 F (29-31C) during the day and about 75 to 70 F (24-26C) at night.
The rainy (hurricane) season starts in June and ends in November with the greatest concentration of rain usually occurring from August through October.
Dry season is from December to June, when apart from the odd, passing shower, the sun rules.
One of the joys of Barbados is that the coasts are all so different. They surround a rich interior of forested gullies, rolling pastures and hilltops with magnificent views.
Barbados is only 21 miles long and 14 miles wide, but there is much to see and do. All the 11 parishes have something different to offer and a character and atmosphere of their own. Take time off from the beach for a couple of days, hire a car and explore the many delights of the island - from flower gardens, caves and gullies to the plantations houses, sugar fields and rum distilleries.
Villas from £360 per week

If you are used to basically equipped European style self-catering then you'll be pleasantly surprised - our owners equip their properties more like homes than holiday flats.
