Get active in Morocco – 7 nights from £595 pp

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

September 2010:  Fleewinter has introduced activity breaks to its brand new riad complex, Rebali – located in the small village of Sidi Kaouki, 20 minutes from the coastal town of Essaouira – for those who would rather climb onto a camel than just snooze on a sunbed.

Activities on offer include camel picnics (90 minutes on a camel followed by a Berber picnic), horse riding, quad-biking, tennis, cookery-lessons and watersports instruction (surfing, kite surfing, wind surfing etc.).  The centre has its own on-site Hammam (traditional Moroccan sauna/steam complex), for a well-earned massage following a day of activities.

Rebali is a newly-opened luxurious boutique hotel with a choice of suites and private villas.  It is built in a traditional riad style around central courtyards but with high tech functionality such as remote controlled sliding glass roofs.

Other touches include large double showers and four poster beds (with imported Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels).

The price of a typical week-long activity break from Fleewinter is from £595 pp (based on two sharing) which includes flights, transfers, camel picnic, half-day quad biking, half-day horse riding, excursion to a local winery with lunch, visit to market with the Rebali chef followed by a cookery lesson, a wind-surfing lesson, two sessions in the Hammam, a shopping trip to Essaouira and 7 nights’ B&B.  Tennis, which is on-site, is free.

Guests are free to decide on the order of their itinerary and tailor-make it, depending on their personal requirements.

Escape the summer of sport and save money in Morocco!

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Not everyone loves sport and over the next 6 weeks we will be bombarded with one-day and Test cricket, 3 Grand Prix, Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, Henley and not forgetting the five-week-long FIFA World Cup.

For sport’s detesters, now is the perfect time to visit Fleewinter’s popular new ocean-facing Riad complex, Rebali, near Essaouira, and anyone who can travel before July 10 (the date holidays must be completed by) can enjoy a special anti-sport offer of just £180 pp (2 sharing) for 7 nights on a B&B basis (saving £60 pp off the standard rate).

Rebali is comprised of six riad-style villas, with 1-5 bedrooms.  Traditionally designed, the properties have modern touches such as remote-controlled electric sliding glass roofs.

Three of the larger villas have private pools and the three smaller riads have shared use of another, although a white sandy beach is just 100m away.

The complex has its own Hammam, plus on-site cooks, who can prepare meals and deliver them to the villas (private accommodation with hotel-style service).

Fully bonded, Fleewinter can also book flights, transfers or car hire or request (flight inclusive price from £435 pp – two sharing – including private transfers from Marrakech).

The quickest way to Essaouira, Morocco – avoid the nearest airport!

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Now that there are flight options to both Marrakech (Easyjet, Ryanair, Thomsonfly and Royal Air Maroc) and Agadir (Ryanair &  Easyjet), when planning a trip  to Essaouira, a look at a map will probably have you heading to Agadir – don’t!

Fleewinter, the UK’s leading independent specialist for Morocco holidays knows the country inside out and warns customers against flying to Agadir – even though it is closer.

Comments Alisdair Luxmoore, Managing Director: “Many people book flights to Agadir after looking at a map and being fooled into thinking that must be the best option as it is closer than Marrakech.  However the road from Agadir is nowhere near as good and an average drive time will be around 4 hours, compared with 2.5 hours from Marrakech.  There are also lots more flights to Marrakech and it is closer to the UK, meaning less fuel being burned for those who like to try and minimise their carbon footprint.

“Marrakech is also a much more exciting and colourful destination than Agadir and is perfect for stopping for a night or two at either end of a stay in Essaouira, or for hiking excursions into the Atlas Mountains.

Fleewinter has recently opened Rebali, a unique complex of six traditionally designed riads along the coast from Essaouira, sleeping from 2 to 10 people.

The properties have modern touches such as electrically operated glass sliding roofs, and there is also a hammam, and chefs on site who can deliver meals to riads on request (therefore private accommodation with the convenience of hotel-style service).

There are swimming pools (the larger villas have private pools), tennis courts and the ocean-facing properties are just 100m from an expansive, white, sandy beach. Rooms can be booked individually or entire properties can be taken over by groups.  Prices from £40 per person per night (two sharing), on a B&B basis.

Fleewinter is a fully-bonded operator, and can book flights, transfers and car hire on request.  Every booking also receives a copy of Fleewinter’s exclusive Insider Guide Notes to Morocco.  Call 020 7112 0019 (www.fleewinter.com).
