The ground floor is taken up with the restaurant and communal areas together with garden access and access to the pool.

The bedrooms are on the 1st and 2nd floors and many have private balconies with sea views (2nd floor best). Each bedroom has an en suite bath/shower room, telephone and satellite TV. All are decorated indiviually using classic Moroccan styles and contemporary furnishings. Some rooms have connecting doors which make them good for families and both twin and king double beds are available.

A highlight are the staff who are generally young and relaxed and make for a good atmosphere. There is also a well equipped spa and hammam for treatments.

The location is quiet and only a 2 minute stroll to the medina and even quicker to the beach.

Great base to see all of Essaouira in a short visit.

Just a quick note to say many thanks for coming up with such a great itinerary and accommodation for us in Morrocco - everything went really smoothly and all of the accommodation was excellent in its own way and was great value for money. Our favourite was the Ocean in Essaouira, and we particularly enjoyed sitting on the cushions in front of the fire in the evenings drinking wine and playing cards! It was also the best breakfast. 'At Ocean Vagabond we tended to loiter around the garden/pool or on our balcony most days, and pop out for a walk and a beer and then back to the garden for the dish-of-the-day most nights as it was a nice simple, delicious meal, and happened to be particularly good value too. We did go out to Taros in the town a couple of nights, and had really excellent steaks. Loved being so near the long sandy beach, and I really enjoyed being to have a swim in the sea in those waves, and then straight back to the hotel to shower and change.' Pooh March 2010
