Riad Assakina is a beautiful 7 bedroom, light and spacious riad, ideally situated in the historic “Mellah”, the ancient Jewish quarter of the Medina.

It directly overlooks the famous Bahia Palace; and is within an easy stroll of the city’s other famous attractions. It is also well placed for enjoying some of Marrakech’s finest restaurants and bars.
The Riad subtly blends the best of local tradition, materials and craftsmanship with all the refinements of a bespoke private residence. Each bedroom has en suite facilities and has been individually designed and decorated to the highest standards. Purest quality cotton linen and fresh flowers are provided in every room, together with many other little luxuries. All suites also have their own sitting area, complete with satellite TV.
There is a beautiful swimming pool in the main courtyard; plus a small splash pool on the sunny terrace, ideal for cooling off during the heat of the day.
A choice of treatments is available in the dedicated massage suite; or guests may simply choose to relax in one of the many beautiful sitting areas scattered throughout the Riad, before enjoying fine dining under the stars.
Rooms
Berber Room This beautiful double/twin room has extra-high ceilings; a feature arcade; and is tastefully decorated with authentic carved Berber art. It opens directly onto the courtyard and pool; and may be linked to the Saadien room via an adjoining door.

Saadien Room This double room is sumptuously decorated with Moroccan mirrors and finest quality golden silk. It has an extra high ceiling and a lovely view directly onto the pool. This room may be linked to the Berber Room via an adjoining door.

Almoravid Suite This double/twin room overlooks the courtyard. It is larger than the ground floor rooms; features intricate Saharan doors; and a collection of authentic Moroccan jewellery and artefacts. The wall behind the bed is decorated in chocolate tadelakt and bears a beautiful hand-carved Arabic inscription.

Merenid Suite This stylish suite is situated on the first floor, protected from the sun by the cool shade of an arcade and with beautiful views onto the pool. It is decorated in warm colours and features a full-length tadelakt wall.

Almohad Suite This magnificent double/twin suite is situated on the first floor. It is filled with light, with a wall of windows that provide a stunning view of the entire Riad. It is decorated with several major pieces of exotic art, including a beautiful carved and painted horse.

Kaid Suite This large suite has a huge bed, modelled on a traditional Moroccan “king’s bed”, situated on a raised tadelakt platform with steps which lead down to a dressing table and sitting area. The room is decorated with ornate silver furniture and beautiful objets d’art from Africa and beyond.

Idrisid Suite This suite, situated on the terrace and used by the owners when in residence, occupies the entire length of the Riad. The bedroom and sitting room areas are seperated by a rare and beautiful antique door. The decor is cool and clean, with neutral tedelakt floors and interesting pieces of African art. There are wonderful views down into the Riad and the sitting area is equipped with a plasma TV and DVD.
