The main courtyard is dominated by the pool where you can enjoy a mint-tea or cold drink. There is a large dining area and salon (sitting room) off the patio. On the first floor there is a second salon with 250 year old original painted red cedar ceiling and then on the roof a large sun terrace where you can eat or sun-bathe overlooking the Medina and the Atlas mountains.
El Zohar's chef Saida can cook, on request, delicious dinners using fresh seasonal market produce. You can choose to dine by candle light on the roof terrace, in the patio or in the dining room. Cookery lessons are also available.
The location is right in the centre of the medina so all the main attractions are only a few minutes walk away, yet despite the central location it is a very quiet area - a perfect base for getting to know Marrakech.

"A beautiful riad with really warm friendly staff, after a day in the souks it was lovely to retreat to the sanctity and calm of the riad and the beautiful deco made you feel like you were in 5 star luxury. Elias and his team do every thing they can to make your stay memorable. Highly recommended." Adam K. July, 2008
"The Riad was perfect and the staff couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable and welcome - it was a very peaceful, exotic and romantic haven in the midst of the old Medina. We can't wait to return and would definitely choose Riad el Zohar as the location was amazing and it seemed a very "happy house". The dinner on our first night was wonderful in front of a roaring log fire, with an anniversary cake served as a surprise after the meal. Naima and Eradi were just charming, cheerful and always went the extra mile to help us." Roy and Jackie M. January 2009
"I had died and gone to heaven. I also think I ate the best meal of the entire holiday (which is saying something) here on our last night. The situation was perfect, the attention to detail in the rooms exceptional, the staff outstanding and the level of comfort and personal care (for want of a better word) stratospheric." Gilian S. April 2009
"Riad El Zohar was wonderful and fully met our expectations and more. This was further complimented by the excellent staff at the Riad who were on hand at all times of the day to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. " Marie S. November 2009
" This is a magical Riad! Beautiful building and furnishings, extremely warm and friendly staff, delicious food, and a superb location - you cannot ask for more! The breakfast here was the best we had in Morocco. They knew it was our honeymoon, and prepared a special dinner for just the two of us at the main table, and even threw in a nice bottle of Moroccan wine! We challenge any open-minded person to come away from here not having made a friend or two! We would definitely stay here again". Oliver G. April 2010
'rhiad el zohar was fantastic. the staff were lovely and really helpful, the rooms were great and the whole place was made to feel like your own home where you could use the internet, read the books, chill out on the roof terrace and it was a great choice for a break' Kate S. January 2011
'Riad El Zohar was wonderful, a real oasis of calm with the plunge pool, plants & the roof terrace. The staff were all lovely - very helpful & friendly. The food was excellent - breakfasts & we booked an evening meal on the first night. The rooms were excellent with lovely thick white towers, plenty of hot water, dressing gowns & lovely shower gel & water for teeth cleaning etc. Also some excellent ideas of places to eat.'
