Riad Farnatchi is a fantastic boutique hotel situated in the oldest part of the medina. With 8 exquisite suites, a heated pool and a showpiece hamman, it has everything one could want for a luxury trip to Marrakech.

Originally 3 separate riads, the owner of has done a wonderful job of creating an extremely stylish, generously spaced riad with oodles of character and sophistication, while at the same time retaining a warm and comfortable environment.

The fluent English speaking staff are a great asset to this riad and happy to arrange anything ('with in reason') at the drop of a hat.

There are two standards of suite, but all combine a crisp clean finish with tasteful yet ornate features. Each room has air conditioning, central heating, satellite TV, stereo CD players, direct dial telephones and internet points. All of the suites contain large double beds. There are no twin rooms and extra beds are not permitted. Guests can make a request a preferred suite, but the hotel will not guarantee the selection.

Suite 2 - A duplex suite, smaller than the others but with heaps of character. Natural light pours in from the large rooflight.

Suite 3 - A suite with a separate bedroom and living room, large private balcony overlooking the pool and a truly amazing bathroom.

Suite 4 - A wider than normal suite due to the bedroom area being in an alcove off the living area. Private sun terrace.

Suite 5 - A very large room with a fireside sitting area, approached via its private balcony. Looks out onto the beautiful rear courtyard.

Suite 7 - A suite with a romantic bed and lovely fireplace, but a restricted view from the bedroom. Panoramic views from its private sun terrace.

The traditional white marble Hammam is free for the use of guests from 4 - 7 p.m. everyday, and at other times by appointment. Wonderful gommage, massage and beauty treatments are available with fully trained specialists.

The 7m pool has an underwater jet stream for swimming and is heated in the cooler winter months. Guests also have use of a beautiful pool and garden outside the Medina where you can spend the day.

Rate includes the following:

Breakfast
Free use of the Hammam between 4 and 7 p.m.

Home made canapés before dinner
Complimentary fruit, pastries and mineral water
Complimentary taxis transfer to and from the airport
Complimentary Moroccan slippers and Djelaba to use within the house and to take home as a souvenir.
