Riad l'Orangerie

Seven bedroom L'Orangeraie is a beautifully restored and well run riad ideally situated just 2 minutes walk from the square Djemma el Fna, the heart of Marrakech.

L'Orangerie is one of our favourite riads in Marrakech and it is difficult come up with any reasons to stay elsewhere (except it is so popular advance booking is very necessary). With 7 bedrooms it is bigger than average but with the rooms being spread over 2 courtyards there is still an intimate feel. Having 2 courtyard means one is dedicated to the pool, which makes it a more private place to swim - not in full view of the other guests and staff.

The rooms are all characterised by high ceilings and traditional craftmanship. The high ceilings also mean the roof terrace is raised above the surrounding houses so you get good views over the Medina and towards the Atlas Mountains - there is also plenty of space to relax and sunbathe.

In addition to a heated pool, the property provides you with access to a traditional Moroccan "hammam" with treatments given by a professional masseur (upon request).

Breakfast is included and other meals are available on request. Dine at midday or in the evening beside the pool or enjoy the view from the riad's roof top terrace. In winter you can soak up the warmth of an open fire in the living room.

The Suites:

Paprika: Grand suite on the first floor with double bed (180 x 200cm) located off the garden patio. The suite is plastered with mandarin "tadelakt" and includes a bathroom with a shower (in wine "tadelakt").

Nutmeg: Grand suite on the ground floor with double bed (160 x 200cm) located off the garden patio. The suite has toffee "tadelakt" includes a bathroom with a bath and shower (in mandarin "tadelakt").

Coriander: Ground floor suite with double bed (160 x 200cm) located off the garden patio. The suite has toffee "tadelakt" and includes a contemporary designed bathroom with a bath (in ivory "tadelakt").

The Rooms

Safran: Room with two single beds (90 x 200cm) or a double bed located off the pool patio on the first floor. The room has mandarin "tadelakt" includes a bathroom with a shower (in ivory "tadelakt").

Curcuma: Room on the first floor with two single beds (90 x 200cm) or a double bed located off the pool patio. The room plastered in lavender "tadelakt" includes a bathroom with a shower (in powder grey "tadelakt").

Gingembre: 1st floor room with a double bed (160 x 200cm) located on the garden patio. The room glazed in ivory "tadelakt" includes a bathroom with a bath (in toffee "tadelakt").

First rooms have air-conditioning. Ground floor rooms are naturally cooled from the thick walls in summer. All rooms have heating available for the winter.
