Perched on a hill-top in the foot-hills of the High Atlas Mountains, Kasbah Angour has superb panoramic views. To the south and east are the peaks of the highest mountains in Morocco, including Angour, Oukaimeden and the Toubkal Massif. To the north and west is the river Sidi Fares valley, with its olive groves and villages built from compacted earth. The views are complemented by the Kasbah's red sandstone walls and its beautiful gardens.
Kasbah Angour has 21 bedrooms and 4 suites, all with panoramic views. The bedrooms and suites are constructed from traditional Moroccan materials: walls in local red sandstone; floors in hand made clay tiles from Meknes; windows and doors in cedar wood from the Middle Atlas Mountains; ceilings in wood and cane or plaster with sculpted cornices. The locally made furniture has Berber motifs. Comfort has not been overlooked. All of the bedrooms and suites have under-floor heating, air conditioning, telephone and free 3G internet connection. In addition, the suites have bars with countertop, fridge and sink. Most of the beds can be made up as two singles or one king size double.
The Kasbah has a restaurant with two terraces, a large café-bar and a very comfortable lounge. You will be surprised and charmed by each location. Kasbah Angour's kitchen uses the best fresh produce, including fruit and vegetables from the Kasbah's own gardens. The cuisine follows the seasons with Moroccan and Mediterranean themes.
Kasbah Angour is ideally situated for a successful holiday. The Kasbah is a splendid spot to relax. You can enjoy the gardens and swimming pool. You can admire the mountains and Berber villages.
Marrakech is only 30 minutes drive away and Kasbah Angour can arrange inexpensive reliable transport. You can sample the vibrancy of Marrakech for the day or the evening and then retreat to the comfort of Kasbah Angour. The Kasbah can arrange accompanied tours of Marrakech for those guests that want to make sure they see the best sites.
Kasbah Angour has a team of experienced mountain guides that are eager to show you the region and let you sample Berber culture. The guided excursions are good value, so you can choose whether they would like to be just two people in the group or team up with other guests. There is a lot to see and do in the mountains. Excursions include half and full-day walks, cycling, mule treks and visits by car to some wonderful locations.
On Saturdays there is a musical evening in the café-bar, featuring traditional Moroccan instruments.
