Lovingly restored by French owner, Jacqueline using ancient, traditional methods, it consists of 8 pretty individual bedrooms all in one unique house.
Samra, with its Berber ‘cachet,’ offers all the comforts of hotel-style rooms to intrepid trekkers at an altitude of 1920 metres and is within easy reach of the main Atlas peaks. The concept allows travellers a little taste of Berber life, all in adequate comfort, especially after a hard day’s trekking. Berber Cuisine, a soothing Beldi ‘Hammam’ and local guides who speak French, English, Italian, Spanish, German, & Arabic are all at your disposal.
Morocco’s first tree-house suite is the newest addition to Douar Samra. A house on 8m stilts, the room has magnificent views from the private terrace and the all-round balcony. Inside, the spacious all-wooden room has a large king-size bed, which can be split into two singles. A cot can be supplied for children up to ten years of age. The design of the room has a modern, pared-down, Scandinavian feel, with a beautiful mirrored in-view shower, separate toilet, and for the chilly winter visits, there is a magnificent wood-burning stove. The room will have tea and coffee-making facilities and a hair-dryer is of course supplied.
