Rebali Riads

Rebali Riads is a boutique hotel just outside Essaouira in the village of Sidi Kaouki. You stay in Moroccan Riad style villas set in beautiful gardens only a few metres stroll from a stunning beach. There are suites with sea views and private balconies or you can take an entire riad with between 1 and 5 bedrooms.

Rebali combines the space and privacy of renting a villa with the service and ease of a boutique hotel. There are 6 riads surrounding the gardens and pools: the three smaller ones share a large (15m-50ft) pool and shallow plunge pool - great for kids or chilling out - and the other three riads have private pools.

As well as the pools there is a professionally managed hammam (opening autumn 2009) with a traditional steam room and two treatment rooms for massages, pedicures etc.

All the riads have fully equipped kitchens so you can make food yourself but there is also a service kitchen with chef who will prepare food for you on request and serve it in your riad, by the pool or on your roof terrace. Breakfast is included in the price for all bookings and there are also plenty of cafes and restaurants in easy walking distance.

Each riad has a private garden with palms, lawns and terrace, and is equipped with outside dining furniture, sunbeds and exterior showers. There is also a large shared garden with space for a game of boules or to kick a ball. A tennis court is planned for completion spring 2010.

Whilst each riad is unique they are all designed around an enclosed dining courtyard with a remote controlled glass sliding roof. They also all have roof terraces with stunning 360 degree views of the beach, the sea and the surrounding countryside - a fabulous place to have breakfast or to curl up with a book.

All sitting rooms, snugs and cinema rooms have open fires and there is underfloor heating throughout the villas.

Bedrooms have king-sized four-poster beds (master suites only) or king-sized doubles that can be converted into two full-sized singles if required. All are equipped with White Company Egyptian cotton bed linen, towels and robes. Pool towels are also provided.

Dar Azreq
Two bedroom riad with courtyard dining room, kitchen and sitting room. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with double basins and the main bedroom has marble-topped bath and double shower. The garden has gated access to the main pool area and stairs to the private roof terrace. Click to view

Dar Etoile
The smallest Rebali Riad with one master bedroom overlooking the dining courtyard. There is a snug which can be converted is a second bedroom. The bathroom has double showers and basins, and marble topped bath - there is also a down stairs toilet. Off the dining room is a fully equipped kitchen and sitting room with "bubble" fireplace. Dar Jeseli

Dar Mevada
Three bedroom riad with large garden and beautiful private pool in the shape of an Arabic arch. There are three bedrooms including a master suite with four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom. The two other bedrooms share a bathroom with marble topped bath and walk-in shower. There is a courtyard dining room with electric sliding roof, bar area, kitchen and sitting room. Riad Sila
You can take a one of the three suites in this riad or the whole riad including the cinema room as a fourth bedroom. The suites have private balcony, marble topped bath, double basins and walk-in showers and the master has a 4-poster bed and open plan bathroom. There is a large triple height dinning room/sitting room and then a separate snug/cinema room with an open fire. There is a shower room downstairs serving the fourth bedroom. Riad Valmar
The largest Rebali Riad is designed around three courtyards; one with sliding roof housing the dining room, the second being a quiet open space with fountain and orange trees and the third surrounding the swimming pool on 3 sides. These spaces inter-connect with the sitting room and cinema room. The 4 suites are all upstairs and each has private terrace and en suite tadelakt bathrooms with double basins and walk-in showers. There are two master suites with marble topped baths, double showers and 4-poster beds. If taken exclusively the cinema room converts into a 5th bedroom with a downstairs shower room. There is plenty to do in the Sidi Kaouki itself with a many cafes and restaurants within walking distance as well as the beach with watersports, camel and horse riding and scope for fabulous walks. Essaouira is a 20 minute drive away (£5 in a taxi) and has fabulous shopping in the souks and an abundance of restaurants to suit all budgets. There is a golf course around 15 minutes drive away and a Vineyard to visit to sample wines and eat in their restaurant.
