Atlas Mountain and Sahara Desert Accommodation

It is very easy to get from Marrakech into the mountains and then on to the Sahara desert. It is almost impossible to choose a place to stay without first discussing your itinerary with us so please give a call or drop us an email
This is really 2 areas with the High Atlas Mountains really being an extension of the Marrakech Rural section and then the Sahara and the route over the mountains being another. The two areas are not connected despite the appearance on the map and the only route is via Marrakech

High Atlas Mountains accommodation


MOA001 - Kasbah Angour - Kasbah Angour is a gorgeous Berber castle with 25 rooms and suites in a spectacular location in the mountains 30 minutes from Marrakech.	MOS002 - Douar Samra - is typical of the traditional stone and rammed-earth dwellings of Berber villagers, constructed in several terraced stone stories. Located in the middle of the village of thirty or so Berber houses. With just a handful of lovely rooms, it is aclose as you can get to living in a genuine Berber village	MMT004 - The Kasbah du Toubkal - just 60km from Marrakech, is situated at the foot of Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. It is a Berber hospitality centre (hotel/auberge) for groups and individuals.

MMO004 - Bab Ourika - 15 room Kasbah perches majestically on a hilltop at the apex of the Ourika Valley, guarding the gateway to the snow-capped Atlas Mountains.	MAT001 - Kasbah Tamadot - Bought by Richard Branson in 1998, during on of his famous ballooning expeditions, Kasbah Tamadot is a magical walled building located near the village of Asni in Morocco's High Atlas region, a mere 45 minutes drive from the centre of Marrakech.	MOS001 - Ksar Shama - A traditionally styled small hotel in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, the 21 bedroom Ksar Shama is in a great location in the gateway to the Toubkal National park and offers spectacular views of the High Atlas peaks.

The Sahara and the road to the desert


MTI001 - Irrocha - Located in the heart of the Atlas Mountains this small rustic 5 bed roomed Kasbah is ideal for excursions to Ait-Benhadou and a favourite with walking enthusiasts.	MTO003 - Jardins de Skoura - is an 8 bedroom boutique guesthouse situated 45 minutes from Ouarzazate and makes a perfect base for exploring the Dades Valley, Todra Gorge and on to the Sahara desert at Merzouga.	MTM001 - Chez le Pacha - offers wonderful accommodation with "tent rooms" and suites located in M’hamid - right on the edge of the Sahara.

MTO001 - kasbah Ellouze - The Kasbah Ellouze is a superb place with a panoramic view from the terrace overlooking gardens planted with almond and olive trees located in tiny village just 5km from world heritage site Ait Ben Haddou.	MTA001 - Kasbah Azul - is a wonderful place, it is newly built in the village of Aslim just a short walk from from the centre of Agdz and with beautiful gardens and pool.	MZY001 - Yasmina - is a "auberge" or small hotel on the edge of the most spectacular dunes in Morocco. You can stay in the hotel but most client use it for a base for spending a night under canvas in the sands.

MAC001 - Bab Rimal - Bab Rimal is a desert retreat with a dozen or so room and suites, pool and spa. It is the perfect place to chill out after a desert crossing and fits in to our a - Nomad tour intinerary.	MTQ001 - Dar Qamar - is a guest house located 2 km from the centre of Agdz. It offers air-conditioned accommodation with free Wi-Fi and a heated pool and spa with a garden.	The Sahara Desert is best visited as part of a - desert tour of around 4 nights staying in the places mentioned above and with a night or 2 in the desert itself with camels and our nomad guide – a truly memorable experience. It only opened in 2011 but has quickly become a Fleewinter Favourite.		MTO001 - Kasbah Ellouze - is a superb place with a panoramic view from the terrace overlooking gardens planted with almond and olive trees located in Tamdaght 5km from Ait Ben Haddou. It is a favourite stopping off point for all our desert tours but well worth a longer stay		MZY001 - Yasmina - is a "auberge" or small hotel on the edge of the most spectacular dunes in Morocco. The hotel isn't particualary special but as a location for stepping into stunning dune landscapes, it is unbeatable.
