  Shopping...

R.M. August 2008: Kati our personal shopper was an absolute highlight and we think everyone should book at least a morning with her. She was fantastic fun and really helped us adjust to cultural differences and how to deal with shopping in the soaks which are far more intense than you think. Especially if your french isnt up to much!!! She also showed us around a few bars and cafes and we had a fantastic morning!

  Restaurants...

R.M. August 2008: we also love cafe arabe in Marrakech, little bit more pricey than some places but it has stunning interiors and the roof garden is a cool (in both senses) place to watch the sun set and drink cocktails! The food was lovely too, we ate there several times...In essouria we loved pretty much everything-especially the breeze! Taros bar is again a cool hang out for watching the moon and drinking cocktails-great views of the harbour! bit pricey compared to some bars but worth it. La perla is a great little place for proper Moroccan food, service is very slow but the food is top and it feels authentic. Also a def must is watching the sunset from the ramparts.

E.G. March 2008: Your Morocco guide is really good and we visited some great restaurants. Especially good were: Kosy bar, Narwama (Moroccan Thai fusion, great ambience, just off the main square, 30, rue Koutoubia), Café Arabe. For people who have cash to splash around and fancy a day with the beautiful people in the sun, check out Nikki Beach (about half an hour from the old town).

  Transport...

R.M. August 2008: fantastic....so glad I pre booked them. The drivers turned up when they were meant to and were friendly and helpful. The aircon car is great, we stretched out and enjoyed the view!

D.P. April 2008: the transfers were superb...had fun with the driver!! mutual language lessons!

G.F April 2008: Aziz, our driver was very calm and a really good bloke. We all felt very at ease putting our Trust in him. When he told us something was worth seeing it was. Also his lunch spots were some of the best meals we had. Especially the smoky barbeque lunch spot up in the windy hills on the way to Ait Bennhoudou.

  Highlights...

K.M. August 2008: Really loved Fez, and the train trip from Fez to Marrakech was great - easy, on time, efficient, clean, and a great way to see the countryside. Would recommend it. (...)

J.R. August 2008: The hustle and bustle of souks. For our girls the henna hand painting., Ourika valley - waterfalls and seeing the nomads arriving with their herds of cattle and goats at the "ski-resort" at Ouikaimeden. Seeing so few cars and so many mules and donkeys - like going back in time. At Oukaimeden, because it is a winter ski-resort there is a very reasonably priced good quality restaurant with private garden and (for anxious girls) good loos !

N.M. August 2008: Our visit to Meknes & Volubilis by car from Fes was a very memorable and worthwhile day out. Cafe Clock in Fes Medina is well worth a visit. I would recommend the Medina is best seen initially with a guide, then venture in (with a map!!) on your own. We saw beautiful and inspirational Medersas and other historical buildings in all the places we visited. My advice would be to get out early for days out and go back to the Riad before 2pm in August, then head out again in the evening or enjoy the cities from the roof top at night.

C.J. May 2008: Marrakesh is amazing and I would especially recommend it for families with children who haven't been outside Europe before. It's so close but the sights, sounds, smells... everything - feel so 'foreign' and exotic that my children (12 & 14) - who have seen a lot of Europe - were absolutely bowled over by it, as was I. We loved every minute of wandering around taking it all in. The food is very child friendly too (bbq meat and chips!) and everything was incredibly cheap. The people were so friendly but once or twice I found the self-appointed 'guides' a bit intimidating. A great experience and we will definately be returning to Morocco - perhaps Fez next time. (...) There is something wrong with you if you find Marrakesh disappointing !

K.S. July 2007 Fish from the stalls in the harbour (lobster!) at Essaouria was super. (...) There is a bus tour of Marrakech - we picked it up at the 'square' It's a get off and on as you please service - ticket lasts for 24hrs. and very good Guide commentaries with individual headphones.

G.A December 2007: We went on buggy tour in Ouarzazate through the surrounding areas - absolutely fantastic, great scenery, good tour guide (Run by a Frenchman) - really highly recommended if in the area. We had dinner at a restaurant in Essaouria - just outside of the medina, on the water - cant remember the name - but apparently one of the top restaurants in Essaouria - probably had the best steak I have tasted and reasonably priced, especially when compared the value for money at other establishments.

S.T. December 2007: Full blown Hammam in Marrakesh - public hammam, recommended by owner of The Dar el Souk Riad.

  Camel Trekking...

F.S. April 2008: Also a tip to take a small bag to transfer some basics to the dessert camp would be helpful. Our poor camel had to carry a small suitcase as we didnt have a bag to put our overnight stuff into.
