All the "big 5" are present in the park and the all inclusive package includes morning and sunset game drives, all meals, park levies, entrance fees and tea/coffee.
A visit to River Bend is the perfect way to finish of a couple of weeks in Cape Town and there are reasonably priced flights to Port Elizabeth (an hours flight plus 50 mins drive to River Bend) or you can drive all the way from Cape Town stopping for a few nights in Knysna or Plettenberg Bay on the famous Garden Route.
Whilst offering the highest standards of luxury, River Bend also welcomes families with children and there are 2 family suites and specific activities (eg spoor tracking) laid on to keep children entertained. Baby sitting can be arranged.
Having recently completed a refurbishment, River Bend now boasts a spacious honeymoon suite with outside showers overlooking the reserve. The executive rooms also now have outside showers and slipper baths.
There is a separate swimming pool and a number of reception rooms including a well stocked library and variety of pampering treatments are available for guests.
Morning and sunset game drives go through the private entrance into the Addo to view elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, hyena and numerous antelope species.
Those looking for a more exclusive bush experience can book the 3 bedroom 'bush villa', located away from the main lodge. Guests will enjoy the services of their own personal chef and game ranger, ensuring an exclusive safari experience. Click for more details.
Originally a farmhouse, the villa has been tastefully renovated and fitted with all the comforts to ensure a luxury, yet homely bush experience.
Relax on the verandah, enjoy a braai (barbeque) prepared by your chef or unwind by the swimming pool over-looking the reserve.
In addition, guided drives/walk can be arranged in the 17,000ha private reserve where white rhino, sable, blue wildebeest, zebra and other antelope can be viewed. This is also a wild dog and several other breeding projects (including at the time of writing a leopard cub and baby white rhino)
Bird watch tours and safaris on horse back can also be arranged, or a packed lunch provided for you to explore the Lodges private citrus farm.
A trip to Africa is not complete without the game experience and River Bend is the perfect way to include this without adding too much cost or travel to your trip.
