Hideaway is a recently converted three-bedroom colonial estate mansion set in a peaceful coconut and pineapple estate, within an hours drive of Colombo airport.

This boutique-style villa provides an ideal landing point for those visiting from overseas, allowing you to gently relax and unwind in a peaceful rural setting.

WHAT ITS GOT!

Hideaway has two suites and one deluxe room. All the rooms have netted four-poster beds, a personal hi-fi and 2 have open air en suites with a Jacuzzi bath.

There are several very pleasant living/dining areas including an outdoor pavillion next to the pool.

There is no air-conditioning but the villa has fans throughout and the traditional sri lankan structure with thick walls, high ceilings and concrete floors is perfectly designed to stay cool.

FOOD & DRINK

The food, especially the fruit juices – gets good reviews and the Colombo-trained chef is capable of preparing an extensive range of dishes, from traditional Sri Lankan curries to lamb and apricot pie. Most of the vegetables and some of the fruits are grown in Hideaway’s very own organic garden.

FUN & GAMES

Guests can entertain themselves in the pool, gym or by taking a walk through the plantation. Bikes are available for exploring the local area and staff will be happy to arrange excursions to nearby temples, Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, the coast and rock climbing sites. For rainy days the living room has a DVD player with a well-stocked DVD library.
