Craigbank has four bedrooms in the main house, including the spacious Master Bedroom which has two fireplaces - one of which is in the bathroom! Three of these rooms are doubles and one is a twin. There is an additional double room located in a separate building in the garden. Each room is comfortably furnished with thick mattresses on the beds, fireplaces, views across the garden and wide-screen TVs and plenty of DVDs for rainy days.
The rest of the house offers a cosy drawing room, a sumptuous burgundy coloured dining room and wide verandas that offer a serene place to pass the day. The house has been furnished with antiques, shelves are full of leather bound books, brass candelabras scatter the tables and mounted hunting antlers and stretched snake skins adorn the walls. Low lighting and open fires add to the decor to give Craigbank the ambience of an older era.
Dinner is served atop a magnificent teak table in the grand high-ceilinged burgundy-hued Dining Room. The kitchen at Craigbank is very modern and a delicious combination of Sri Lankan and European cuisine is expertly assembled by the in house chef. Alternatively guests may prefer to eat at one of the grand colonial hotels in town.
Craigbank is only a short walk away from Nuwara Eliya town. Activities such as golf, riding, trekking and visits to tea factories can all be arranged by the villa manager. It is also possible to visit Horton Plains and Adam's Peak.
