Deer Park is a beautiful environmentally conscious hotel with 77 rooms divided up into private cottages.

Deer Park Hotel brings you right into the midst of nature. Set within peaceful jungle scenery and next door to the calm elegance of the Giritale reservoir, this is the perfect place to rest after an eventful day of cultural adventure or ecological trekking.

WHAT ITS GOT

All cottages are comfortably furnished with double or twin beds, living area with day bed, dressing area, air-conditioning, ceiling fan and satellite TV. Most cottages come with unique open-air garden bathrooms with outdoor showers so you can enjoy the sensational experience of a shower under the stars. The two storey cottages have a wonderful luxury tree house feel about them with the jungle canopy directly outside your window. The trees are full of monkeys and tree frogs, who can be a little noisy at bedtime but its one of those things you quickly adjust too and after the first night hardly notice.

There is also a fantastic pool and spa at Deer Park ideal for relaxing in after a day’s tour around the ancient cities or scrambling up Sigiriya Rock and the Dambulla Caves. Alternatively take a walk through the jungle, to observe the small spotted deer that give the hotel its name.

FOOD & DRINK

For meals chose between the Ebony Restaurant which provides an excellent sample of local Sri Lankan cuisine, Tree Tops where you can dine with the wildlife or perhaps go for a jungle bbq. For a slightly more special experience however, opt for private dining and have a personalized champagne breakfast, high tea or evening meal in a breathtakingly exotic setting. Taken there on elephant back or by buggy cart, what an amazing way to spend an evening!
