South point villa is a spectacular 3 bed roomed luxury beach villa, located strangely enough at the southern most tip of the island - give or take some poetic license!


South Point Villa caters exclusively to guests in search of absolute privacy, peace and tranquility. The owner's hope that the personalised service given to guests will be an experience in the Sri Lankan style of living.

WHAT IT'S GOT

The property is fully air-conditioned and all 3 bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms and cable tv/dvd. A large veranda runs along the rear of the villa as well as a communal living room both ideal for dinning and gazing out to sea.

There is a large pool and gardens that lead on to what is essentially a private beach. That is with the exception of one lone 80 year old stilt fisherman, who has being occupying the same spot directly in front of the villa all of his life.

FOOD & DRINKS

The staff at South Point are fully trained cooks and so can supply any types of cuisine including traditional sri lankan, western or perhaps a bbq on the beach. There is a good stock of drinks but it is recommended that guest bring their own to cut costs and ensure they are not disappointed.

FUN & GAMES

Kathaluwa is a sleepy little fishing village. Weligama itself is a busy fishing town with local restaurants and shops to explore. Alternatively guests can take a short drive up the coast towards Galle, which offers a variety of boutique hotels to dine at and good quality gift shops within the Dutch fort.

Other activities include snorkeling, diving, fishing, paddle boats, wildlife trips to a turtle hatchery or national, or maybe even a visit to the Hadunagoda tea factory. Hadunagoda is run by the same family who own the villa and it is the only factory in Ceylon that produces White Tea, following the recipe of ancient Chinese Emperors.

Minimum stays of 10-14days during peak season.

Depending on availability it is also possible to book rooms individually, but exclusive use of the villa can't be guaranteed.

Cots can be arranged free of charge on request.
