Galle & The South Coast Villas

Thanks to the outstanding beauty of Sri Lanka's south west coast Galle has seen a huge rise in luxury boutique hotels over the last five years. Untouched by the trappings of mass tourism this stretch of coast remains an undeveloped haven of sophistication and authentic Sri Lankan style. At the same time its relaxed and friendly atmosphere leaves it accessible and unpretentious, attracting those who enjoy excellent service and luxurious surroundings without the 'look at me' charade. Visitors do have to travel to reach these un-spoilt beaches with transfer times from Colombo Airport up to five hours, but there is now the option of air transfers and soon a new coastal motorway, due to be completed by 2010 which will slash journey times in half.
