The famous Pitons are an essential stop, the crown jewels of the St Lucia ; these dramatic twin peaks are the national landmark rising 2,600 feet above sea level as is the drive-in volcano and botanical gardens. The climate in St Lucia is tropical, with temperatures ranging from the mid seventies to the mid-eighties (25 to 30 Celsius). During the hottest time of the year, from June to August, temperatures can rich the mid-nineties (32 Celsius). Things are kept pretty cool, however, by the constant trade winds.
