WHAT ITS GOT

Arun Residence has five air-conditioned bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, all tastefully decorated in a period style. The Arun Suite has a King size bed, a private roof garden and veranda, with spectacular views of the river. There are then 3 double rooms (Chaba, Leelavadee, and Lotus) all set over a split level with double beds on a raised mezzanine. Finally the Orchid room is a large twin room. The rooms include :

Downstairs there is a communal reception area/lounge and a bar. Outside on a raised platform is The Deck restaurant with exceptional views across to The Temple of the Dawn. The hotel doesn't have much else in the way of facilities, placing it more in the charming guesthouse category rather than polished boutique hotel, but for the price, location and authenticity its wonderful.

FOOD & DRINK

The Deck restaurant is open to non-residents as well as hotel guests and maintains a strong following from both ex-pats and the Thai people themselves. Weekend Brunch is very popular as is and their speciality, High Tea. Diners can chose from either the light bar menu or the al a carte selection featuring dishes such as Pan Fried Red Snapper with Oregano, Fava Bean Tempura and Hot Pepper Sauce or Som Tam Papaya with Peanut, Chillies, Dried Shrimp Lime and Fish Sauce.

LOCATION, FUN & GAMES

Located on Ratanakosin Island the cultural centre of Bangkok, the Arun Residence is very close to Thailand's most important historic sites. It the case of Wat Po, literally seconds away!! There is a boat dock just next to the hotel where you can catch a water taxi or long tail boat to many of the cities other sites i.e. the Grand Palace or floating markets. Other nearby sites include :

ESSENTIAL EXTRAS

Located directly on the banks of Chaopraya River noise from the river can disturb sleep. The sewage can also cause occasional bad odours...but then this is Bangkok!!

The rooms are set over 3 floors accessed only by stairs. Three of the bedrooms also feature steps up to the sleeping area, therefore not suitable for all elderly guests.

Child policy: child under 12 yrs stay free in parent’s room without extra bed. Meals are not included. Extra bed (adult/child): 750 Baht include breakfast.
