LOCATION
You wouldn't think it once inside, but Tamarind Village is located at the heart of Chiang Mai's old town. It is like an oasis hidden amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel is conveniently situated fifteen minutes from the airport, train station and bus
terminal. Chiang Mai is 700km north of Bangkok.
WHAT ITS GOT
Tamarind Village is set round a series of internal courtyards, with interlinking verandas and distinctive heavily sloped Lanna roofs. Because of the courtyards and small clusters of buildings the hotel feels very intimate, but it is actually deceptively large.
The hotel has 42 guest rooms and 3 suites. They are each furnished with antiques and softened by tribal fabrics and patterns from the region. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, TV, minibar and a wall-mounted air-conditioning.
The 25 Lanna Rooms are small but carefully considered (25 sq.m). There are king-sized doubles or twin rooms available in this room category. The en-suite bathrooms have showers.
The 17 Lanna Deluxe Rooms are slightly larger at (30 sq.m). There are king-sized doubles or twin rooms available in this room category and the rooms come with an outdoor sitting area. The en-suite bathrooms have showers.
The 2 Tamarind Suites (50 sq.m) are absolutely beautiful and spacious enough to accommodate to extra beds making it ideal for families. They would also be perfect for honeymoon couples. The rooms have their own indoor living area with TV and DVD, outdoor seating area and bath tubs in the en-suite bathrooms. The decoration is lovely. Very traditional, but somehow light and fresh at the same time.
The Tamarind Spa Suite (60 sq.m) is equally beautiful with loads of outdoor space and a private terrace. The suite is extremely private and comes with complimentary spa treatments, foot bath and mini bar.
In addition to the rooms Tamarind Village has a very attractive lobby area that is used as a lounge come evening. This overlooks the swimming pool which measuring 7.65 by 17.60 meters and is 1.65 meters deep. The pool is surrounded by a walled garden full of tropical plants and flowers. At the far end of the pool is the Ruen Tamarind bar and restaurant.
The hotel also has a spa, a boutique, a concierge and travel desk, car rental, laundry, dry cleaning and babysitting services. The Village Spa is open daily from 10:00 – 22:00hrs and offers a carefully chosen selection of blissful massage and treatments.

The Ruen Tamarind Restaurant provides indoor or open-air dining on the swimming pool terrace and offers a variety
of mouth watering Thai and International dishes. The menu also offers a selection of authentic Northern Thai dishes prepared in the kitchen from original family recipes. Breakfast and lunch are also served at Ruen Tamarind.
