Anankhira is a group of three eco-sensitive single bedroom villas, with simple and earthy yet luxurious interiors.
WHAT ITS GOT
With rustic Balinese design this small retreat blends into its tropical background with minimal interference and a sense of privacy. The hillside's giant boulders have been retained and used to form parts of the living space, bathrooms and terraces. The coconut palms have been left to grow through the thatched roofs of the villas. The retreat comprises of three individual residences, a lobby & a service area linked by gravelled pathways and lush terraced gardens.
Each villa offers the same facilities, but is unique with its fit on the land, view, layout and pool. The villas are divided into two separate areas. The living rooms, with large cushioned sofas are open air with views of the ocean and access to the infinity edged swimming pools. Facilities include TV, cable & DVD player. A hammock, sofa and easy chair and the area is cooled by a ceiling fan.
In a separate pavilion the double bedrooms are air-conditioned with Kingsize beds, en-suite bathroom with warm water, TV cable and DVD player. Slippers & robes are provided, as is a hair drier, refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. The roofs are pitched and lined with attractive bamboo lattice work.
The villas are simple, but beautifully formed and extremely romantic. Expect a very tranquil setting and charming surroundings but not 5 star luxuries. The owner was keen to offer a quality alternative to the resorts on Koh Tao, but has steered away from a formal approach to service. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, but are encouraged to take a relaxed approach to guest interaction.
FOOD & DRINKS
In an attempt to keep the concept as simple as possible, the resort doesn't provide breakfast or meals but they have links with a partner restaurant in the village just 600ms away, who can deliver any meals at no extra charge to the normal menu rate. There are several other restaurants in Sairee Village (walking distance) and around the island to explore.
LOCATION
The retreat is located a couple of metres inland on a gently graduated hill, just behind the coconut palms that run along the coast. The road leads off from the Northern end of Sairee Beach - about 600 meters from the restaurants and shopping of Sairee Village and about 300 meters from Sairee beach.
ESSENTIAL EXTRAS
The villas are serviced daily by a maid & includes a change of sheets & towels. Toiletries are also provided.
A taxi is always available and it is very easy to get around on mopeds or bicycles, which can be rented for less than $5 a day.
Rental Rates include taxes, return transfer from the pier, complimentary high-speed internet and access to your own private dip pool.
Last Minute Offers are available for stays within the next two weeks and pending very limited availability. Approx price is £70 per night.
