The resort is set on the edge of Thian Og Bay or Shark Bay as it is more commonly known. The white stone of the villas and walk ways blends seamlessly with the white sand of the bay and blue waters. The bay gets its name from a sheer under water drop at the edge of the bay where the reef drops suddenly away into deep sea and creates a popular feeding ground for reef sharks.
As the only luxury resort on Koh Tao, Jamahkiri has cornered the market but does so extremely well. The feeling of escapism achieved through Jamahkiri's positioning on such a small island and with its own private beach is guaranteed.
WHAT ITS GOT
There are four room categories at Jamahkiri, although each pavilion is unique and has been individually designed and decorated.
The superior and deluxe pavillions are fairly similar the only real difference being the quality of the view. They both come with fully stocked mini-bar, air-conditioning, hot water, satellite television, DVD player, telephone, balcony and Jacuzzi or shower. The rooms are decorated with Thai antique furniture and can accommodate either a King sized bed or two twin beds if guests prefer.
The resort then has 2 types of suite that can be used to accommodate a family of four, a group of friends or simply provide a more spacious alternative for a couple.
The Deluxe Suites are set all on one level with a king sized bed bedroom connected to a large living room with double sofa bed, where you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the ocean from the balcony.
The Family Suite is set over 2 levels with the king sized bedroom on the top floor and a spacious living space with bar and sofa bed on the ground floor which opens up onto a large balcony.

FUN & GAMES
The main activity on Koh Tao is diving. Kamahkiri has its own dive centre and dive boat which can take you to some of the best dive sight around the Gulf of Thailand. The centre can also rent snorkel equipment and canoes.
Kamahkiri also has its own monkey reserve, open to all guests. There are currently 8 rescued gibbons in the reserve which have come from all over Thailand to live out the rest of their days in safety.
Koh Tao itself is a sleepy place, where the emphasis on diving has lead to a rather relaxed nightlife that sees many hit the hay quite early. Having said that, for those who don’t dive there are several good restaurants in the main town and a couple of really nice beach bars to spend the evenings enjoying. Diving is by no means a prerequisite on Koh Tao.
